Service Assistant Project Manager | Allied Electric, Inc
The Tone:
This is an in-person role at Allied Electric, Inc, based in Grand Rapids, MI. The Service Assistant Project Manager is crucial for maintaining project integrity from estimating through closeout, fostering client relationships, and upholding company standards, contributing directly to Allied Electric’s growth and operational excellence.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Project Oversight: Assist in supervising the total project effort, establishing objectives, and ensuring completion within design, budget, and schedule parameters.
• Financial Management: Support the management of project financial aspects, including cost estimates, budget pricing, change order development, tracking, forecasting, and billing efforts.
• Estimating & Proposal Development: Perform detailed electrical quantity takeoffs using specialized software and assist in preparing comprehensive proposal packages with scope narratives.
• Client & Stakeholder Coordination: Communicate and represent the company in meetings with clients, subcontractors, and general contractors to ensure timely project completion and resolve issues.
• Technical & Safety Support: Provide technical assistance for interpreting drawings and equipment suggestions, review construction documents, and support company quality and safety initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-Level professional with a foundational understanding of electrical project management and estimating processes for commercial and industrial markets. Formal electrical training or trade school education is preferred but not required.
• Experience: A strong preference for 2 years of electrical estimating experience in commercial and industrial projects, alongside a demonstrated ability to perform quantity takeoffs and support bid preparations under direction.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams), robust organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, and familiarity with the National Electric Code and basic electrical engineering calculations.
• Bonus: Experience utilizing specialized construction estimating software such as Accubid, LiveCount, and Bluebeam Revu, or project management platforms like Procore and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
