Assistant Gym Manager | PureGym US

This is a full-time role at PureGym US, an expanding company dedicated to making high-quality, affordable gyms accessible to everyone, everywhere. As part of The PureGym Group, a leading gym operator headquartered in the UK with over 700 locations and more than 2 million members worldwide, PureGym is thrilled to announce its expansion into the United States. The Assistant Gym Manager position is a key function, assisting the Gym Manager in running the day-to-day operations of the club. This role is crucial in creating a great place to work and workout for the entire team and all PureGym members, ensuring the club embodies the mission to inspire healthier nations with friendly, supportive, and judgment-free spaces.

• Team: Reports to the Gym Manager
• Mission: Help run the day-to-day operations of the gym and create an excellent place to work and workout for all team members and PureGym members.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Member Experience: Deliver an excellent member experience in the club by consistently focusing on high service standards and maintaining an inviting atmosphere, working closely alongside the Gym Manager to achieve this.
• Team Recruitment Support: Collaborate with the Gym Manager in the strategic recruitment of Personal Trainers and Gym Floor Associates, and actively participate with the Gym Manager in helping to onboard all new team members, ensuring a smooth integration into the PureGym team.
• Team Development: Independently interview, hire, and foster the development of all new members of the team, ensuring they receive a comprehensive and positive onboarding experience from day one.
• Gym Operations: Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and organization are consistently maintained across all areas of the gym, contributing to a welcoming and functional environment for everyone.
• Safety Assurance: Uphold and enforce all safety protocols and procedures to ensure the well-being and security of all members, guests, and team members within the facility at all times.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a proven track record of leadership ability within a customer-centric environment such as fitness, leisure, hospitality, or retail settings.
• Experience: Possess demonstrated capability in managing daily operations and leading teams effectively within a service industry.
• Skills: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction; possess an enthusiastic, energetic, friendly, and personable demeanor; demonstrate a passionate, intelligent, and knowledgeable understanding of the fitness industry; and have the ability to successfully obtain CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.
