Activities Director | Phoenix Senior Living
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at The Pearl at Five Forks, a community under Phoenix Senior Living, located in Five Forks. The company builds vibrant senior living communities focused on holistic wellness. This role is crucial for designing and implementing engaging activity and outreach programs that enhance residents’ emotional, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual well-being. The Activities Director directly contributes to integrating the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy into daily life for seniors.

• Mission: Responsible for developing, leading, and overseeing a resident-centered activities and outreach program that promotes and integrates the Phoenix Senior Living philosophy of wellness in all aspects of the seniors’ lives.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Program Strategy: Develop and lead a comprehensive, resident-centered activities and outreach program that integrates the Phoenix Senior Living wellness philosophy across all emotional, sense of purpose, physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual dimensions of senior life.
• Team Management: Oversee the activities program and assist in recruiting, hiring, and training the Assistant Program and Outreach Director.
• Resident Planning: Participate in Personalized Service Plans (PSP) and utilize Resident Profiles to ensure diverse, appropriate, and personalized activities are available throughout the day and evening, supported by resident care associates.
• Engagement Tracking: Maintain the PSL Activity & Program Guidebook by meticulously tracking daily resident interest and participation, and create small groups or clubs based on resident demographic profiles and preferences.
• Care & Logistics: Understand and recognize resident changes in condition, take appropriate action, provide assistance to residents attending activities, including Life Skills and normalizing routines in memory care, and manage activity supply inventory and monthly Resident Council meetings.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level role, with an Associate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources Administration, Gerontology, or a related course of study preferred.
• Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience in senior living or skilled nursing activity and event planning, which may include moderate to large event planning responsibilities outside the senior living industry.
• Skills: Demonstrated Leadership capabilities are required for this role.
• Bonus: Knowledge and experience in the Assisted Living industry and Dementia care are preferred qualifications.
