Staff Accountant – AI Trainer | DataAnnotation
The Tone:
This is an independent contractor role with DataAnnotation, located remotely within the United States. DataAnnotation is expanding into teaching AI Assistant models to be more useful tools for finance professionals. This role is crucial for an experienced Staff Accountant to apply their expertise, measuring AI progress and evaluating its logic to solve problems and improve the quality of each model. You will help shape how AI understands complex financial principles and decision-making.

• Mission: To train AI models to be more accurate and useful tools for finance professionals by evaluating and refining their understanding of financial principles.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Evaluate AI model quality: Measure the progress of AI chatbots, evaluate their logic, and solve problems to improve model quality.
• Review AI Assistant answers: Improve AI Assistant responses to questions concerning macro trends, corporate finance, and capital markets.
• Validate AI reasoning: Leverage your education and work experience to check the reasoning and accuracy of an AI Assistant’s work.
• Test complex scenarios: Push AI models with complex, real-world finance scenarios and edge cases to identify strengths and weaknesses in their reasoning.
• Provide structured feedback: Share clear, structured feedback to enhance the intelligence and reliability of each new AI version.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Experienced finance professional, specifically an existing Staff Accountant, with expertise in financial principles and decision-making.
• Experience: Professional experience required, demonstrating proficiency in financial analysis, financial modeling, data analysis, and other finance management reasoning exercises.
• Skills: Fluency in English (native or bilingual level) and a detail-oriented approach.
• Bonus: A current, in progress, or completed Master’s and/or PhD is preferred.
