What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Assessment: Gain experience in gathering comprehensive patient histories and performing thorough physical examinations.
• Treatment Planning: Develop skills in creating effective and personalized treatment plans for veterinary patients.
• Diagnostics & Dentistry: Participate in and perform diagnostic procedures and assist with or provide dentistry services.
• Surgical & Medical Management: Observe, assist with, or perform surgical procedures, and learn about the medical management of patients.
• Communication Development: Practice and refine essential communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Current enrollment as a veterinary student in an accredited program.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience required, as this is an educational externship designed for veterinary students.
• Skills: Ability to learn and apply skills in patient history taking, physical examination, treatment plan formulation, diagnostic techniques, and veterinary communication.
