Maintenance Director | Genesis Health Clubs

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Genesis Health Clubs. As a vital part of the operations team, the Maintenance Director is responsible for the overall physical integrity and functionality of the club’s properties. This position ensures a safe, well-maintained, and fully operational environment, directly supporting the company’s mission to provide exceptional health and fitness experiences for all members and staff. The Maintenance Director’s diligent oversight and proactive approach are essential for maintaining the high standards expected across all facilities.

• Team: Leads maintenance associates within an assigned region and actively collaborates with other team members daily.
• Mission: To ensure all club properties are meticulously maintained, functional, and safe, covering general facility upkeep, repairs, construction projects, and equipment operations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Facility Inspections & Oversight: Conduct comprehensive daily inspections of all club properties to rigorously ensure building operations consistently perform according to established standards. This includes continuous monitoring of building security and safety, actively identifying and addressing any unsafe or hazardous conditions.
• Maintenance Execution & Repair: Proactively perform and oversee all scheduled regular and preventive maintenance activities across the entire facility. This involves swift and effective responses to reported maintenance issues, executing timely repairs for critical systems like electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling infrastructure.
• Grounds & Property Upkeep: Ensure the consistent maintenance of outdoor grounds, contributing to the overall aesthetic and functional integrity of the club’s properties.
• Team Leadership & Coordination: Provide direct supervision and guidance to maintenance associates within the assigned region, fostering a collaborative environment, and engaging daily with other team members for coordinated and efficient operations.
• Resource & Record Management: Meticulously maintain comprehensive maintenance logs for all activities performed and accurately manage records of purchases and inventories for all maintenance supplies, ensuring efficient resource allocation and cost control.

The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a professional with a strong background in facility maintenance, demonstrating leadership capabilities to supervise teams and oversee comprehensive property upkeep. Candidates must possess a thorough understanding of building operations, repair methodologies, and critical safety protocols.
• Experience: A minimum of two years of hands-on experience in facility maintenance is essential, including demonstrated proficiency in performing various repair tasks across electrical, plumbing, heating, and cooling systems. The successful candidate must also be available to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as required by the club’s operational demands.
• Skills: Essential skills include proven HVAC proficiency, expert capability in electrical and plumbing system repair, and practical expertise in heating and cooling systems. Strong abilities in general facility and grounds maintenance, effective inventory and maintenance log management, and vigilance in building security and safety monitoring are also critical.
