Veterinary Extern – General Practice | NVA General Practice

This is an externship at NVA General Practice, located in Palm City, FL. What You’ll Actually Do
• Patient Assessment: Gather patient histories and perform physical exams.
• Treatment Planning: Contribute to the creation of patient treatment plans.
• Diagnostic & Therapeutic Procedures: Gain experience with diagnostics, dentistry services, and observing, assisting, or performing surgical procedures.
• Medical Management: Participate in the medical management of patients.
• Professional Communication: Practice communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Currently enrolled as a Veterinary student. All class years are encouraged to participate in this externship experience.
• Experience: No specific prior professional experience is required, as this role is designed for current veterinary students to gain practical skills.
• Skills: Patient history gathering, physical examination performance, treatment plan creation, diagnostic procedure understanding, dentistry service comprehension, surgical procedure observation/assistance, and medical patient management.
