The Tone:

KENPAT is a construction industry leader with over 40 years of experience, specializing in interior and exterior wall systems, ceiling systems, architectural specialties, and cladding services. This role is crucial for maintaining the financial health and accuracy of the company, handling day-to-day accounting tasks that underpin all project operations. The Staff Accountant ensures compliance and provides essential financial data to support leadership decisions and continued excellence.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Handle daily accounting operations, including processing accounts payable and receivable, and managing general ledger entries.
• Reconcile: Perform bank and various account reconciliations to ensure financial records are accurate and balanced.
• Report: Prepare and review financial reports, providing clear insights into the company’s financial status.
• Support: Assist with critical financial processes such as month-end and year-end close, budgeting, and forecasting activities.
• Collaborate: Maintain accurate financial records, ensure compliance with company policies, support audit processes, and provide financial insights to project managers and leadership.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Core domain knowledge in accounting and finance principles, including GAAP and standard accounting practices.
• Experience: Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks or similar), Microsoft Excel, and other standard office applications.
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines in a project-based environment, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Bonus: An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; prior experience in construction or a related industry, including familiarity with job cost accounting; demonstrated integrity, commitment to confidentiality, and willingness to learn and adapt.
