The Tone:
This is a fixed-term contract position at Mediobanca International, located in Luxembourg. Mediobanca International is a leading Investment Bank, a strategic subsidiary of Mediobanca S.p.A., aimed at expanding the Group’s European footprint and pursuing growth outside of Italy. This role is crucial for supporting the smooth functioning of the “Accounting, Tax & Reporting” Team as the Luxembourg office experiences continuous growth, ensuring the bank’s accounting integrity and compliance in a dynamic multinational setting.

• Team: “Accounting, Tax & Reporting” Team, working closely with Management.
• Mission: Support the smooth functioning of departmental activities by ensuring the completeness and accuracy of the Bank’s accounting system and preparing/timely submitting periodic regulatory reports to local authorities and the Parent Company.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Statements: Contribute to the preparation of statutory financial statements and support the periodic closing process.
• Accounting Records: Manage all general accounting activities, encompassing accurate bookkeeping and the proper maintenance of comprehensive accounting records.
• Accounts Management: Oversee the complete accounts receivable and accounts payable cycles, including supervising postings, detailed reconciliations, and ensuring overall process accuracy.
• Regulatory Reporting: Prepare and ensure timely submission of periodic regulatory reports for local authorities (e.g., CSSF, BCL) as well as for Group-level requirements (e.g., Bank of Italy).
• Tax Compliance: Support VAT and tax-related processes, which encompasses the management of VAT operations across Italy, EU, and Non-EU regions, along with periodic tax compliance activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor/Master Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accountancy, or an equivalent field. This is an entry-level position.
• Experience: 1 to 2 years of professional experience specifically in accounting positions or statutory audit.
• Skills: Solid knowledge of IFRS and Lux GAAP; Fluency in Italian and English; Proficiency in monitoring accounting and financial data; Ability to work under stress and meet strict deadlines; Demonstrated flexibility, proactivity, and organizational skills; A detail-oriented approach with the ability to interact effectively and in a structured manner with both internal and external stakeholders.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Tax principles; Proficiency in French language.
