Senior Director, People & Culture Business Partner | Greystar

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Greystar, operating in a hybrid capacity across the East Coast and Canada territory. Greystar is a leading global real estate platform, managing and operating over $350 billion of real estate and over one million units/beds globally. This Senior Director position is crucial for driving people strategy and outcomes, serving as a trusted advisor to business leaders, and enhancing the team member experience while strengthening operational performance and leadership capability. The role requires a strong connection to the business and the ability to influence leaders at all levels.

• Pay: $150000–$200000 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Managing Director, People & Culture
• Mission: Own the full team member lifecycle, enhancing team member experience and strengthening operational performance, leadership capability, and organizational effectiveness across the territory.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to regional leadership, guiding workforce strategy, organizational design, and culture across the territory.
• Talent & Workforce Planning: Lead workforce planning initiatives, championing succession planning, and strengthening leadership development for key roles.
• Culture & Experience: Foster an inclusive, high-performing culture and utilize engagement data to drive targeted actions that improve team member retention and experience.
• Performance & Change: Lead and support organizational change initiatives, coaching leaders to strengthen performance, decision-making, and leadership effectiveness.
• Employee Relations & Compliance: Partner with Employee Relations and Legal to manage complex issues, mitigate risk, and ensure consistent application of policies and labor law compliance.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with experience at a Senior Director level.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR leadership, preferably in property management, real estate, hospitality, or multi-site environments, including supporting operations in Canada and end-to-end M&A.
• Skills: Strong business acumen, proven ability to influence leaders, organizational change leadership, talent development, workforce optimization, deep expertise in employee relations and performance management, analytical skills to translate data into actionable insights, and excellent communication skills.
• Bonus: PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification.
