Senior Director, People & Culture Business Partner | Greystar
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Greystar, supporting a leading global real estate platform managing over $350 billion in assets across rental housing. This Senior Director position serves as a critical strategic partner to business leaders, driving essential people strategies and initiatives that enhance the team member experience and strengthen operational performance across a vast territory. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on partnership, requiring a strong connection to the business and the ability to influence leaders at all levels. Success is measured by delivering measurable impact and advancing key initiatives that solve complex business challenges.

• Pay: $150000–$200000 yearly
• Team: Reports to the Managing Director, People & Culture
• Mission: Owns the full team member lifecycle, enhancing team member experience while strengthening operational performance, leadership capability, and organizational effectiveness across the East Coast and Canada territory.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to regional leadership on workforce strategy, organizational design, and culture, leveraging data to improve business outcomes.
• Talent & Workforce: Lead workforce planning, succession planning, and leadership development initiatives, ensuring the organization has the right talent in the right roles at the right time.
• Culture & Experience: Champion Greystar’s values by fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture and utilizing engagement data to drive actions that improve team member retention and experience.
• Performance & Change: Coach leaders to strengthen performance, decision-making, and effectiveness, while driving consistent performance management practices and supporting organizational change initiatives.
• Compliance & Relations: Partner with Employee Relations and Legal to manage complex issues, mitigate risk, and ensure consistent application of policies and compliance with applicable labor laws.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, at a Director-level career stage.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in property management, real estate, hospitality, or multi-site environments, with past experience supporting Canada and end-to-end M&A.
• Skills: Strong business acumen, proven ability to influence leaders and drive people strategies, experience leading organizational change, deep expertise in employee relations, and strong analytical skills.
• Bonus: PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred.
