Senior Director, People & Culture Business Partner | Greystar
The Tone:
This is a full-time hybrid role at Greystar, based in the United States, supporting the East Coast and Canada. Greystar is a leading, fully integrated global real estate platform, offering expertise in property management, investment management, development, and construction services for institutional-quality rental housing. This role is crucial for driving people strategy and outcomes across the portfolio, serving as a trusted advisor to business leaders. This Senior Director will significantly enhance the team member experience, strengthen operational performance, and improve organizational effectiveness across their territory.

• Team: Reports to the Managing Director, People & Culture
• Mission: Owns the full team member lifecycle, with an intentional focus on enhancing the team member experience while strengthening operational performance, leadership capability, and organizational effectiveness across the territory.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Strategic Business Partnership: Serve as a trusted advisor to regional leadership, providing guidance on workforce strategy, organizational design, and culture, while leveraging data to drive business outcomes.
• Talent Development & Workforce Planning: Lead workforce planning, strengthen succession planning, develop leaders, and support talent acquisition efforts across the East Coast and Canada territory.
• Culture & Team Member Experience: Champion Greystar’s values by fostering an inclusive, high-performing culture, utilizing engagement data to improve retention, and supporting M&A integration efforts.
• Performance & Change Management: Lead and support organizational change initiatives, coaching leaders to strengthen performance, and driving consistent, high-quality performance management practices.
• Employee Relations & Compliance: Partner with Employee Relations and Legal to manage complex issues, ensure policy consistency, and comply with labor laws, using trend data to predict outcomes and inform training.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, demonstrating core domain knowledge in People & Culture Business Partnering at a Senior Director level.
• Experience: 10+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in property management, real estate, hospitality, or multi-site environments, with past experience supporting Canada and end-to-end M&A.
• Skills: Strong business acumen, proven ability to influence leaders, experience leading organizational change, deep expertise in employee relations and performance management, and strong analytical and communication skills.
• Bonus: PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP certification.
