The TL;DR
• Role: Full Time
• Location: In-person, Greater Tuscaloosa Area
• Team: Leads a team of approximately 12 Drafting and Engineering professionals
• Mission: Guide and develop a team, improve processes, increase efficiency, and support growth trajectory

What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a team of drafting and engineering professionals.
• Drive Performance & Accountability: Create accountability, drive performance, and build future leaders within the department.
• Optimize Departmental Operations: Improve systems, workflows, and productivity across the engineering and drafting department.
• Collaborate Across Functions: Partner with project management, production, and operations teams to ensure seamless execution.
• Resolve Technical Challenges: Apply technical expertise to solve complex engineering and manufacturing problems.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Director-level leadership experience, such as a Director, Engineering Manager, Design Manager, Drafting Manager, or Operations Leader, balancing technical excellence with people leadership.
• Experience: A proven track record of leading technical teams and driving results in complex manufacturing environments where every project is unique.
• Skills: Expertise in custom cabinetry and architectural millwork, woodworking manufacturing, engineered-to-order manufacturing, custom fabrication, or specialty construction products.
• Bonus: Cabinetry or woodworking experience is preferred, but candidates from other engineered-to-order industries with a strong leadership record are strongly considered.
