Assistant Site Manager | Expert Executive Recruiters (EER Global)

The Tone:
This is a full-time, in-person role at Energix Renewables, based out of their Arlington, Virginia headquarters, requiring consistent travel five days a week to project sites across Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic region. Energix Renewables is a leading independent power producer focused on developing, constructing, owning, and operating utility-scale solar and wind energy projects across the PJM region. This position is vital for supporting on-site construction operations, ensuring renewable energy projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to high standards, contributing directly to the company’s significant long-term investments in the U.S. market. The Assistant Site Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining daily site oversight and driving project progress from commencement through closeout.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Construction Oversight: Directly support the Site Manager in the daily supervision of construction activities, monitoring subcontractor performance to ensure strict adherence to construction plans, safety protocols, and Energix’s quality standards.
• Operational Coordination: Assist with the coordination of daily work plans, schedules, manpower, and equipment allocation, working to meet critical project milestones, and supporting resolution of routine field issues with subcontractors and internal teams.
• Logistics and Inventory: Track and verify deliveries of all equipment and materials, ensuring proper quantities and condition upon arrival, and actively support comprehensive site inventory management, including monitoring equipment usage, fuel levels, and maintenance needs.
• Documentation and Reporting: Conduct regular site walk-throughs and meticulously document daily site progress through detailed logs, photographic records, and essential reporting, also assisting with the preparation of RFIs, submittals, and other construction documentation.
• Quality, Safety & Closeout: Perform basic field measurements, quality checks, and inspections to confirm work aligns with drawings and specifications, while consistently implementing site cleanliness, organization, and safety practices, and contributing to project closeout activities.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Early-career professional with a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field; relevant field experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree requirements.
• Experience: 1–3+ years of experience in construction, field operations, or a related hands-on role; internships, vocational training, or co-op experience are beneficial for this position.
• Skills: Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schedules; strong organizational skills for tracking progress, documenting field activities, and supporting planning; excellent verbal and written communication for coordination; proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for reporting and tracking; demonstrated ability to work independently in field environments.
• Bonus: A background in utility-scale solar or infrastructure construction; basic understanding of construction equipment and processes such as telehandlers, skid steers, surveying, or civil site work; military veterans with construction, field operations, or logistics backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
