The Tone:
This is a full-time Litigation Attorney role for a premier personal injury law firm located in the Bay Area, operating on a hybrid work model. The firm is recognized as one of the top boutique firms in the region, specializing in high-value plaintiff-side personal injury and medical malpractice cases. This position is crucial for the firm’s planned expansion, allowing it to manage a growing and complex caseload and maintain its high standard of representation. The ideal candidate will contribute to the firm’s long-term success and growth, advocating for clients who need dedicated legal support.

The TL;DR

• Pay: $110000–$250000 yearly
• Team: Three attorneys, two paralegals, and an office manager; reports to other firm attorneys
• Mission: Advance the firm’s representation of plaintiffs in personal injury and medical malpractice cases.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Manage and litigate personal injury and medical malpractice cases from intake through trial.
• Case Evaluation & Research: Conduct detailed legal and factual research, including reviewing medical records for injury assessment and identifying appropriate expert witnesses.
• Discovery Management: Execute all phases of discovery, including drafting offensive and defensive discovery, preparing clients for depositions, and taking and defending depositions.
• Pre-trial & Trial Participation: Draft pre-trial motions, demand letters, and mediation statements, and actively participate in mediations and trials.
• Collaborative Work: Collaborate with other attorneys on complex, high-value cases, particularly those venued in federal courts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Juris Doctor degree with a strong academic background and demonstrated interest in plaintiff-side personal injury and medical malpractice litigation.
• Experience: Litigation experience, either plaintiff or defense, with a focus on personal injury and/or medical malpractice. Will consider exceptionally qualified recent law school graduates.
• Skills: Strong legal research, legal writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Bonus: Prior trial experience; fluency in a second language, particularly Spanish.
