ENTRY-LEVEL CAD TECHNICIAN | Wells

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Wells, located in Wells, MN. Wells specializes in the fabrication and installation of precast concrete products. This entry-level position is crucial for preparing detailed production drawings, revising erection drawings, and coordinating projects, directly supporting the precast concrete fabrication and installation processes. The role emphasizes a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement within a collaborative team environment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Data Management: Maintain the seamless flow of project data from the Revit Model to Concrete Vision, ensuring accuracy for production and installation.
• Drawing Revision: Revise erection drawings as necessary to reflect updated specifications or project changes for installation teams.
• Production Sheets: Create and revise individual pour sheets specifically for the Production department to facilitate the manufacturing of each concrete piece.
• Project Schedule Adherence: Maintain the overall project flow by diligently following target dates as established by the D&E Team.
• Special Projects: Complete special projects as requested by supervisors and perform other duties as assigned to support departmental needs.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Candidates must possess a High School Diploma or GED; an Associate degree in drafting is preferred. Core knowledge includes a basic understanding of general construction practices.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are explicitly required, but candidates must demonstrate the ability to use Revit, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other relevant computer software programs.
• Skills: Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office software. Ability to accurately read blueprints and plans, coupled with general math skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential for team collaboration, alongside organizational and time management skills to meet project deadlines and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Bonus: An Associate degree in drafting is a highly preferred qualification for this role.
