Litigation Paralegal | CF Legal Recruiting and Staffing

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at one of New York’s leading personal injury law firms, located on-site in NYC. The firm specializes in personal injury law, providing critical legal representation to clients. This role is essential for an experienced Litigation Paralegal who can independently manage complex litigation matters from their initial stages through to trial preparation, ensuring efficient case progression and delivering exceptional client service within a growing team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Maintain: Maintain organized electronic case files and meticulously track critical deadlines, including statutes of limitations.
• Draft: Draft and prepare various legal documents, such as Notices of Claim, Summons and Complaints, Bills of Particulars, Discovery Demands and Responses, Notes of Issue, Subpoenas, and trial preparation materials.
• File: Electronically file court documents, strictly adhering to New York State and New York City court rules and procedures.
• Prepare: Prepare demand packages and actively assist attorneys with discovery processes, comprehensive case development, and thorough trial preparation.
• Communicate: Communicate professionally and compassionately with clients, consistently providing exceptional service and collaborating with staff to ensure efficient case progression.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Personal Injury Litigation Paralegal, specifically handling New York cases.
• Experience: Proven experience with New York electronic court filing systems and a strong understanding of New York State and New York City court rules, procedures, and statutes.
• Skills: Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, strong written and verbal communication abilities, and the capacity to work both independently and collaboratively with a client-focused, empathetic, and highly accountable approach.
• Bonus: Prior experience with SmartAdvocate legal software is preferred, and a New York Notary Public license or a willingness to obtain one is a plus.
