Paralegal | Vestar
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Vestar, located in Phoenix, AZ. Vestar is a nationally recognized leader in the acquisition, management, leasing, and development of retail real estate, with over 30 million square feet under operation in the Western US. This role supports the in-house legal team across commercial real estate transactions, litigation, and general corporate legal functions, ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of Vestar’s extensive portfolio.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Support: Assist attorneys by drafting, reviewing, and coordinating closing documents for acquisitions, dispositions, and financings, including conducting due diligence and tracking resolutions.
• Leasing Administration: Review active commercial lease agreements, monitor critical lease milestones, and prepare various lease documents such as renewals, extensions, assignments, and estoppel certificates.
• Corporate Governance: Prepare and file entity formation, amendment, and termination documents, maintain corporate minute books, and handle other state and local filings.
• Legal Operations: Draft and track a variety of contracts including NDAs and vendor agreements, manage and organize litigation files, and coordinate the execution and notarization of legal documents.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree. This is a mid-level role requiring foundational knowledge in commercial real estate or corporate transactions.
• Experience: 3–5 years of paralegal experience, with meaningful exposure to commercial real estate or corporate transactions. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required.
• Skills: Strong working knowledge of commercial real estate concepts (leases, purchase and sale agreements, title insurance, loan documents), exceptional written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail, sharp contract-reading abilities, and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Bonus: Experience in an in-house legal department within a real estate, retail, or development company; familiarity with Arizona real estate laws and recording procedures; Notary Public commission in Arizona (or ability to obtain); experience working on multi-million-dollar real estate or corporate transactions.
