What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Effectively manage active cases by maintaining meticulous document control, ensuring all docket deadlines are calendared accurately, and coordinating with and monitoring local counsel to ensure consistent legal strategy.
• Document Preparation & Filing: Prepare and meticulously organize a wide array of legal documents, including specialized forms, detailed charts, professional letters, and other necessary correspondence. This also includes assisting with electronic filing processes to meet court requirements.
• Discovery & Record Analysis: Review and comprehensively summarize depositions and various legal records, extracting key information for case development. Additionally, facilitate the retention of expert witnesses, provide them with necessary materials, and coordinate crucial deadlines for their reports and depositions.
• Litigation Support: Provide comprehensive support for all stages of litigation, including preparing for depositions, hearings, and trials. This involves organizing critical trial documents and exhibits to ensure seamless presentation and efficient proceedings.
• Legal Drafting & Organization: Draft essential discovery documents and prepare standard form pleadings and motions. This role also entails diligently requesting, receiving, and organizing client records, ensuring all client information is accurately maintained and readily accessible.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A paralegal professional with 3-5 years of direct experience, specifically within practice areas such as insurance defense, toxic tort, premise liability, product liability, or transportation.
• Experience: Possesses 3-5 years of hands-on paralegal experience in the specified practice areas, demonstrating a solid understanding of litigation processes. Proficient in utilizing the MS Office suite, including Outlook for communication, Word for document creation, Excel for data organization, and PowerPoint for presentations.
• Skills: Exhibits strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in all tasks, along with demonstrated initiative and a self-directed approach to managing responsibilities and contributing to team objectives.
