Remote California Toxic Tort Paralegal | MG+M The Law Firm

The Tone:
This is a full-time, remote role at MG+M The Law Firm, specifically supporting our California-based legal teams within the Toxic Tort practice group. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters, including toxic tort, complex product liability, and commercial litigation. This position is vital for managing multiple complex litigation matters, providing detailed assessments, and drafting critical documents, enabling attorneys to effectively advance client interests. The role requires working Pacific Time Zone business hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm) to align with our California operations.

• Team: Toxic Tort practice group, supporting California-based legal teams.
• Mission: This person manages complex litigation matters, drafts pre-trial and dispositive motions, evaluates discovery documents, and prepares case assessments to support attorneys in the Toxic Tort practice group.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, File & Serve Xpress

What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Oversee multiple complex litigation matters simultaneously to ensure efficient case progression.
• Monitor: Track case filings and provide detailed assessments to attorneys for informed decision-making.
• Draft: Prepare initial drafts of various pre-trial motions, dispositive motions, and other pleadings.
• Review: Evaluate discovery documents, including medical records, sales documents, and employment records, to identify key case material.
• Compose: Create comprehensive case assessments and evaluations for review by associates and partners.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree. Senior-level expertise in Toxic Tort Defense litigation.
• Experience: 5+ years of experience in Toxic Tort Defense litigation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), Westlaw, PACER, and/or File & Serve Xpress.
• Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, strong problem-solving skills, and keen attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience handling California cases.
