Job Description

AI-Native Operations Intern | Erinys (YC S26)

The Tone:
This is a remote internship with Erinys, a company building an AI-native plaintiff-side litigation firm. Erinys’ core mission is to make high-quality legal representation faster, more affordable, and available to more people, backed by Y Combinator (S26). This hands-on role is for someone highly adaptable, a quick learner, and genuinely interested in both artificial intelligence and the practice of law. It’s an opportunity to actively help build and improve the foundational systems that support the firm’s innovative approach to legal services. This is not a traditional operations internship; instead, you will use AI as a core component of how you research, analyze problems, build processes, and complete your work.

The TL;DR
• Role: Internship
• Location: Remote, United States
• Mission: Design and enhance the AI-native operational systems and workflows that streamline the delivery of high-quality legal services.
• Tech Stack: AI tools

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Research: Conduct thorough research on legal practice areas, court procedures, law firm operations, and potential markets.
• Process Design & Improvement: Design, document, and continuously improve operational workflows, transforming ambiguous problems into clear, actionable plans.
• AI & Technology Application: Utilize AI tools to analyze information and complete complex tasks, while also testing Erinys’ technology to identify improvements for legal teams.
• Firm Operations Support: Provide essential support for firm-building initiatives, including attorney recruiting, client intake, and case operations.
• Strategic Project Execution: Work directly with the founding team on high-priority projects across various aspects of the business.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. A serious interest in understanding how law firms operate, how legal matters develop, and how technology can improve legal service delivery. This role is well-suited for students deeply curious about technology’s impact on law, from fields like law, technology, business, public policy, or computer science.
• Experience: Genuinely AI-native, with demonstrated experience using AI tools as a core part of everyday work. Comfortable experimenting with new tools and identifying where technology can improve workflows. Able to take ownership of open-ended projects and work independently, finding solutions without relying on established processes.
• Skills: Strong written communication, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills. Highly adaptable to fast-moving startup environments, resourceful, and eager to learn quickly while incorporating direct feedback.
• Bonus: Prior experience in law, legal technology, operations, startups, research, cybersecurity, or software is helpful but not a requirement; intellectual curiosity, strong judgment, and adaptability are prioritized.
