The Tone:
This is a full-time role at TFI Family Services, LLC, which involves working in-person and requires travel to court hearings. TFI is a private nonprofit organization dedicated to providing quality care and support services to children in foster care, along with recruiting, training, and supporting foster and adoptive families across multiple states, partnering with state agencies. This Legal Assistant position plays a critical role in supporting agency staff and legal counsel by meticulously monitoring court proceedings, ensuring all filings are timely and accurate, and fostering effective communication with the court system. Ultimately, this role is essential for ensuring compliance with contractual, legal, and regulatory requirements, thereby making a significant and meaningful impact in the lives of children and families served by TFI.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Court Monitoring: Monitor court proceedings to ensure timely filing of reports and accurate staff participation.
• Hearing Support: Attend hearings and provide support for staff preparation and testimony.
• Calendar Management: Track mandatory court reports and maintain comprehensive hearing calendars.
• Legal Communication: Communicate concerns related to court participation and compliance effectively.
• Report Preparation: Prepare detailed reports for legal counsel, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness.

• Background: Entry-level career requiring a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Experience: No specific years of experience are required.
• Skills: Ability to monitor court proceedings, manage legal calendars, prepare detailed reports for legal counsel, maintain professional relationships with courts and attorneys, and possess a valid driver’s license meeting agency underwriting standards.
