The Tone:
This is a Full-time Legal Assistant position at The Maine Legal Group, located in Kennebunk, ME. The Maine Legal Group is a law firm known for providing high-quality, creative, and results-oriented legal representation. This role is essential for supporting attorneys and paralegals in delivering exceptional client service, ensuring efficient office operations, and managing critical legal case details. What You’ll Actually Do
• File Management: Open and manage new and existing client case files, utilizing both physical filing systems and the firm’s CRM software.
• Document Processing: Process and update official court filings and legal notices, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Communication Handling: Manage all office communications, including monitoring various inboxes (email, integrations), triaging messages, and handling incoming and outgoing phone calls to courts and clients.
• Deadline Tracking: Monitor and track critical deadlines and important case milestones to ensure all necessary actions are taken promptly.
• Scheduling & Coordination: Coordinate and schedule meetings and appointments between attorneys and clients, as well as facilitate communications among attorneys.

The Must-Haves
• Background: A college degree is preferred; however, significant legal work experience will be considered in its place. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of administrative tasks within a professional office environment.
• Experience: A minimum of 1-2 years of prior experience working in a law firm or professional office setting, specifically performing administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and using CRM software.
• Skills: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a setting that requires quick turnaround times and meeting deadlines. Possesses strong customer service, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Proficient in Mac computer OS, Apple Mail, and Google Suite, with a proven capacity to collaborate effectively within a team.
• Bonus: Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs is preferred.
