Law Clerk | Chickasaw Nation Industries, Inc.
The Tone:
This is a full-time, onsite role at Chickasaw Nation Industries, Inc. The company operates as a holding entity with diverse subsidiaries in Business Services, Health, Infrastructure and Engineering, Mission Optimization, Technology, and Transportation, serving both federal government and commercial clients. This role is pivotal for providing essential mission support to the Health and Human Services (HHS), Office for Civil Rights (OCR) regional offices, ensuring critical compliance with HIPAA Rules and federal civil rights, conscience, and religious freedom regulations.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Complaint Evaluation: Evaluate incoming complaints to accurately identify potential violations of HIPAA Rules and/or applicable federal civil rights, conscience, and religious freedom regulations.
• Document Drafting: Draft all necessary documents for complaint resolution, which includes investigative strategies, notification and data requests, official closure letters, voluntary resolution agreements, and corrective action plans.
• Interview Conduct: Conduct interviews with complainants and witnesses to gather relevant information and testimony for investigations.
• Information Analysis: Review and analyze a variety of documents such as policies and procedures, medical records, reports of information system activity, computer audits, internet data, and financial reports.
• Communication & Assistance: Timely respond to correspondence and phone calls related to complaints and provide technical assistance as requested.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum educational experience is a law degree (J.D.) from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school, or a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university complemented by one year of specialized experience. Candidates should possess knowledge of the application of nondiscrimination and conscience regulations, HIPAA Rules, court decisions, agency case precedent, theories, concepts, and principles relevant to investigation, enforcement, and compliance work.
• Experience: One year of specialized experience in a field which equips the applicant with the specific knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the duties of the position.
• Skills: Demonstrated excellence in organizational, written, and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in English grammar and punctuation, and strong interpersonal skills for professional interaction across all levels.
• Skills: Proficiency in the full Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Visio.
• Skills: Proven ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information with exceptional discretion.
• Skills: Skilled in managing multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously, while maintaining a high attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
