Law Firm Docket Clerk | CF Legal Recruiting and Staffing
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at a top AM100 law firm, located in New York. This premier international law firm handles a diverse portfolio of state, federal, and regulatory matters. The Docket Clerk position is a great opportunity for a seasoned professional to advance their career by taking on critical responsibilities. The role is vital for maintaining the firm-wide docket and calendar, processing all types of filings, and providing expert advice to the Litigation Department, ensuring accuracy and compliance across all legal proceedings.

• Tech Stack: CompuLaw, CourtAlert, MS Office, PACER, Bloomberg Law, Lexis, Westlaw, NYSCEF.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Calendaring Management: Coordinate and perform comprehensive calendaring functions, including maintaining the firm’s general litigation and intellectual property calendars, communicating deadlines to firm-wide litigation teams, and preparing additional calendar reports upon request while adhering to firm-wide best practices.
• External Coordination: Act as a primary liaison between case teams and external vendors regarding service of process, and manage the coordination of document delivery and retrieval from various courts.
• Firm Resources & Compliance: Coordinate court and bar admissions for the office, communicate updates to attorneys and secretaries, direct data collection for admissions, and establish workflows for addressing incoming and departing attorneys’ admissions, including maintaining electronic court filing (ECF) passwords.
• Deadline Oversight & Advice: Ensure lawyers are timely notified of all filing deadlines and court appearances. Advise members of the Litigation Department on the accurate calculation of deadlines, court rules, civil procedure, and filing protocols, as well as reviewing and approving filings.
• Filings & Research Support: Assist with and handle electronic case filings in addition to hard copy filings and document retrieval. Search and extract information from court-related databases, websites, and relevant docketing and calendaring applications, screening incoming court documents to calendar relevant deadlines.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree. Senior level professional with core domain knowledge of court rules, civil procedure, and filing protocols.
• Experience: Minimum of 3 years’ related experience. Proficiency with CompuLaw and/or CourtAlert. Experience with various online court systems such as PACER and NYSCEF.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, clear communication skills, ability to apply court rules in multiple jurisdictions efficiently, well-developed interpersonal skills, high-level customer service skills, and discretion in handling confidential information.
