Litigation Legal Assistant | Offit Kurman

This role is crucial for providing essential administrative and legal support to a litigation team, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance in all case matters and client interactions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Prepare, format, proofread, and finalize various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery materials, and correspondence.
• Court Filings: Manage electronic filings through NYSCEF, CM/ECF, and other court systems, ensuring strict compliance with applicable rules and deadlines.
• Case Organization: Maintain and organize electronic and physical client files, pleadings, exhibits, and other case-related materials.
• Calendar Management: Monitor case deadlines and proactively manage attorney calendars to ensure timely filings, court appearances, and client commitments.
• Coordination & Communication: Coordinate hearings, depositions, and meetings, and communicate professionally with clients, courts, and opposing counsel.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Professional with core domain knowledge in legal administrative support, specifically within a litigation practice.
• Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of legal administrative experience in a law firm or professional services environment, including demonstrated experience with NYSCEF and CM/ECF electronic court filing systems.
• Skills: Strong legal document production skills, encompassing advanced formatting, proofreading, editing, and quality control, along with exceptional organizational and time-management abilities.
• Bonus: Experience supporting complex commercial litigation matters.
