The Tone:
This is a full-time role at bizjobz LLC, located in Westbury, Long Island, NY. The company is actively seeking a skilled Personal Injury Paralegal to support its legal team. This pivotal position involves collaborating closely with attorneys across all stages of personal injury cases, from the initial client intake and information gathering through to complex discovery, settlement negotiations, and potential trial proceedings. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in ensuring effective communication with clients, medical providers, and opposing counsel, and in maintaining the smooth, efficient progression of each case.

The TL;DR

• Mission: To expertly support personal injury attorneys in managing all aspects of plaintiff-side cases, ensuring efficient operations and successful outcomes.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Comprehensive Document & File Management: Expertly draft, meticulously review, and accurately file a full spectrum of legal documents, including complaints, discovery responses, subpoenas, and settlement agreements, while also managing and maintaining precise, up-to-date case files.
• Strategic Scheduling & Coordination: Independently coordinate and schedule all critical case events, such as depositions, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and court appearances, ensuring seamless logistical execution.
• Medical Record & Billing Analysis: Efficiently request, systematically review, and thoroughly summarize extensive medical records and bills, extracting vital information relevant to client injuries and damages.
• Client & Stakeholder Communication: Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, providing regular case updates, gathering necessary information, and managing communications with medical providers and opposing counsel.
• Trial Preparation & Settlement Assistance: Prepare comprehensive trial notebooks, exhibits, and other essential materials for hearings and trials, and actively assist in negotiating and finalizing lien resolutions and settlements.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with a core understanding of litigation processes.
• Experience: 4+ years of dedicated experience functioning as a Litigation Legal Assistant or Paralegal.
• Skills: Legal Document Preparation; Case File Management; Medical Record Analysis; Client Communication; Deadline Management.
