Litigation Assistant | AAA Auto Club Enterprises
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at AAA Auto Club Enterprises. The company is the largest club within the national AAA federation, employing nearly 17,000 individuals across 24 states and serving over 18 million members. This position provides crucial administrative and secretarial support to attorneys, with primary responsibility for the preparation, review, and processing of complex legal documents, ensuring the smooth operation of legal matters.
The TL;DR

• Mission: This person performs highly complex and varied secretarial duties, with primary responsibility for legal document preparation, review, and processing, to support single or multiple attorneys.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Word, Outlook, legal software applications, case management system
What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Preparation: Prepare and proofread legal documents such as summons, complaints, motions, and pleadings, ensuring compliance with court rules and attorney instructions.
• Data Management: Input, correct, and update all legal file data, including correspondence, notices, billing, and expenditures, into the case management system.
• Calendar Management: Manage attorney calendars by scheduling and confirming appointments and court appearances, resolving any conflicts as necessary.
• Filing & Compliance: File correspondence and legal documents according to law office standards and maintain a comprehensive diary system for litigated files to ensure statutory compliance.
• Administrative Support: Process all mail in compliance with law firm standards, maintain technical files and records, and prepare reports and payment drafts.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High School GED required.
• Experience: 4-6 years of secretarial and/or legal experience using accepted legal support and office organization practices required. Minimum typing speed of 55 – 60 corrected words per minute preferred.
• Skills: Ability to express ideas clearly, effectively, and persuasively both orally and in writing; proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook; ability to compose, prepare, proofread, and type correspondence.
• Bonus: Knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures; demonstrated behavioral competencies in results orientation, customer service, continuous improvement, teamwork and collaboration, and valuing diversity.
