The Sports Immigration Paralegal ensures strict adherence to all legal requirements and critical deadlines, significantly contributing to the successful outcome of athlete visa applications, maintaining compliance, and ensuring overall client satisfaction and operational efficiency within the immigration team.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Petition Management: Prepare and accurately file immigration petitions and applications, specifically focusing on O-1, P-1, and other relevant visa types for professional athletes.
• Legal Research & Strategy: Conduct in-depth legal research to effectively support case preparation and contribute to the development of robust immigration strategies.
• Document Preparation: Draft a variety of critical legal documents, including professional correspondence and comprehensive case summaries, ensuring precision and clarity.
• Client & Attorney Coordination: Systematically coordinate with both clients and internal attorneys to efficiently gather all necessary information and documentation for ongoing cases.
• Case Oversight & Reporting: Maintain meticulous case files, diligently track case progress, and provide regular, clear updates to both attorneys and clients to ensure timely advancement.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A Bachelor’s degree is required, coupled with a fundamental understanding of immigration law, particularly as it pertains to the unique requirements of professional athletes.
• Experience: Requires a minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience within immigration law, with a strong emphasis on preparing and managing O-1 (Individuals with Extraordinary Ability) and P-1 (Internationally Recognized Athletes) visa types.
• Skills: Demonstrated strong organizational and time management capabilities to efficiently handle multiple complex cases simultaneously and meet strict deadlines. Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy is essential for all document preparation and file maintenance. Possesses effective communication skills, crucial for professional and clear interactions with both high-profile clients and legal team members. Familiarity with legal research tools and case management software is also required to support daily operations.
• Bonus: Experience with consular processing for visa applicants is highly preferred for this role.
