The Tone:
This is a full-time Paralegal role with a hybrid work option at Brown Gren Abraham & McCracken, LLC. The company is an insurance defense firm that delivers comprehensive legal services to employers and insurers across Colorado, Arizona, and Utah. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth progression of client cases by meticulously managing documents through the discovery stage and providing essential support to attorneys in crafting defense plans. We are seeking someone who can maintain careful, well-organized oversight and working knowledge of each case.

• Mission: Own the meticulous management of case discovery and provide essential support to attorneys for defense planning.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Manage: Oversee the development and discovery process from beginning to end for assigned workers’ compensation files.
• Draft: Prepare and serve various legal pleadings to administrative offices and courts, along with correspondence and settlement documents.
• Coordinate: Liaise with various third-party professionals to acquire additional discovery, such as investigative reports, video surveillance, and vocational assessments.
• Schedule: Arrange hearings, prehearings, depositions, expert conferences, settlement conferences, and medical appointments with travel itineraries as needed.
• Prepare: Assist attorneys in readying cases for hearings, including the creation of exhibit packets, and consistently review and process incoming discoveries within deadlines.
The Must-Haves
• Background: High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 3+ years of litigation support experience.
• Skills: Thorough knowledge and understanding of the Arizona Workers’ Compensation Act and relevant administrative procedures; excellent ability to multitask across several files, handle detailed duties, and set priorities; professional communication with clients, adjusters, lawyers, physicians, courts, and outside vendors.
• Bonus: Paralegal certification preferred; experience specifically in workers’ compensation litigation is preferred.
