Litigation Paralegal | D3 Search

The Tone:
This is a full-time, direct-hire role at a prominent CA-based full-service law practice, located in West Los Angeles, CA (90067), operating on a flexible hybrid 4 onsite/1 remote model. The practice seeks a Litigation Paralegal to support its small internal civil litigation team. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient document management, discovery processes, and comprehensive client and expert communication, directly contributing to the team’s success in civil litigation matters.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Document Management & Correspondence: Facilitate document collection and production for litigation matters, draft various correspondence, and track settlement statements meticulously.
• Client & Expert Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for clients and experts, preparing essential client welcome letters and Letters of Representation (LORs), and communicating regarding expert estimates.
• File and Case Management in Filevine: Set up and meticulously organize client files within Filevine, which includes renaming and organizing documents, reviewing documents, updating estimate and report screens, entering party information, uploading insurance policies, creating deadline chains, maintaining timelines, and updating case details.
• Comprehensive Discovery Assistance: Provide extensive support for discovery matters, managing documents with platforms like Relativity, DISCO, and/or Everlaw, performing document tagging and organization, and drafting initial disclosures and other discovery-related documents.
• Task Coordination & Follow-up: Coordinate expert assignments and inspections requested by carriers, while diligently following up on outstanding tasks such as the collection of 2071 documents and conducting client welcome calls.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess an Associate degree in paralegal or legal studies, or a paralegal certificate, coupled with a minimum of four (4+) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, work experience, and training within a law office setting.
• Experience: Four (4+) years of relevant civil litigation experience is a mandatory requirement, with specific expertise in managing discovery and documents using platforms such as Relativity, DISCO, and/or Everlaw.
• Skills: Strong capabilities in civil litigation support, including document collection and production, discovery management, effective communication with clients and experts, and proficient use of Filevine.
• Bonus: A Bachelor’s degree in paralegal or legal studies is considered highly preferred.
