Litigation Paralegal | Plona Partners

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Plona Partners, located in Dallas. Plona Partners is a distinguished legal firm specializing in providing comprehensive counsel and vigorous representation in labor and employment law matters. This Litigation Paralegal position is a critical support role, directly contributing to the efficiency and effectiveness of our legal team. By managing crucial administrative and litigation-related tasks for multiple attorneys, you will play an essential part in ensuring cases progress smoothly and that client needs are met with precision and professionalism.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Attorney Support: Provide direct administrative and litigation assistance to a team of 4-5 attorneys, encompassing both partners and associates, ensuring their workload is effectively managed. This includes a wide array of support functions critical to daily legal operations.
• Document Management & Filing: Prepare and review various legal documents, ensuring accuracy and compliance before filing them in both state and federal court systems. This also involves managing document flow and organization.
• Communication & Research: Facilitate effective communication between the firm, courts, and clients, ensuring all parties are informed. Additionally, conduct thorough legal research using Westlaw to support case development and attorney preparation.
• Case Organization & Tracking: Proactively manage attorneys’ calendars, track matter progress diligently, and send timely reminders for critical court dates and internal deadlines. This responsibility is key to maintaining an organized and efficient practice.
• Firm Values Adherence: Uphold and consistently embody the firm’s core values and professional standards in all interactions and activities, contributing positively to the firm’s culture and reputation.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a High School diploma or equivalent as a foundational educational requirement. Demonstrate comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of commercial litigation processes and procedures, alongside an extensive understanding of the court system. This includes familiarity with court filing programs, tools, protocols, and the critical importance of deadlines.
• Experience: A minimum of 3-5 years of dedicated experience in commercial litigation is essential. This experience must include practical application of legal administrative support and familiarity with sophisticated document management systems, such as iManage.
• Skills: Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication abilities, crucial for effective interaction with attorneys, clients, and court personnel. Be a highly skilled typist, proficient in accurately and efficiently producing legal documents, and possess advanced competency in using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe products. Must also demonstrate strong organizational skills and a keen attention to detail in all tasks, and an ability to establish positive working relationships with colleagues at all levels.
