Paralegal | The Husband & Wife Law Team

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at The Husband & Wife Law Team, located in Phoenix, AZ. The company is a well-established personal injury law firm that has been setting the standard for nearly 30 years through exceptional client service and legal results. This Paralegal role is crucial for empathetically guiding individuals through significant personal injury challenges, ensuring their cases are meticulously managed and they achieve the best possible outcomes.

• Team: Reports to attorneys, working closely with a supportive team of legal support staff that handles medical bills, liens, opening cases, settlement, and disbursement support.
• Mission: To compassionately manage a personal caseload of serious personal injury cases, serving as the primary client contact and ensuring each case progresses efficiently and effectively.
• Tech Stack: Needles, Filevine

What You’ll Actually Do:
• Caseload Management: Own and propel a personal portfolio of 50–65 serious personal injury cases, including those involving major accidents, wrongful death, and catastrophic injuries, ensuring continuous forward movement.
• Client Advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining regular communication every 28 days to provide updates, address concerns, and ensure they feel cared for throughout the legal process.
• Inter-departmental Collaboration: Work in close coordination with attorneys, investigators, and medical providers to gather necessary information and strategize case approaches.
• Detailed Case Analysis: Conduct in-depth examination of all case specifics, meticulously reviewing insurance policies, comprehensive medical records, and complex liability factors.
• Litigation Preparedness: Systematically prepare every aspect of a case, organizing documents, evidence, and information to ensure complete readiness and a strong position should litigation be pursued.

The Must-Haves:
• Background: A legal professional with a minimum of 2–5+ years of dedicated personal injury paralegal experience. This role requires a master of multitasking and adherence to deadlines, someone capable of remaining calm under pressure while also reassuring clients.
• Experience: Proven ability to effectively juggle numerous tasks and maintain smooth workflows across various teams. This includes extensive experience in sorting and processing incoming mail, protecting client privacy through document redaction, and meticulously maintaining case notes and records within case management software. Must have a strong track record of staying on top of all deadlines, statutes, and internal dates, ensuring every requested record and bill is acquired, preparing documents for expert review, building and submitting comprehensive demand packages, and creating clear, accurate disbursement statements for clients.
• Skills: Exceptional organizational capabilities and a keen eye for detail are essential. Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with clients, attorneys, and other parties, coupled with the ability to maintain composure and offer reassurance during challenging situations.
• Bonus: Practical experience with specific legal case management software such as Needles or Filevine.
