The Tone:
This is a full-time, non-exempt role at Kahana Feld, a legal firm located in New York, NY, operating with a hybrid work schedule after an initial in-office period. This position is vital for supporting attorneys through all phases of litigation, ensuring seamless case progression across diverse practice areas. The Paralegal plays a crucial part in organizing complex legal documents, managing eDiscovery tasks, and preparing materials for court proceedings, directly contributing to the firm’s legal support infrastructure.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Coordinate: Organize, prepare, and interpret complex legal documents under the supervision of an attorney.
• Manage: Review and maintain documents and case files, compiling them for filing with courts and relevant agencies.
• Execute: Conduct electronic document reviews, coordinate document productions, and perform other eDiscovery tasks.
• Support: Assist with drafting discovery, pleadings, and status reports, and prepare materials for court hearings and depositions.
• Collaborate: Attend client meetings, conference calls, and case-related meetings with attorneys and liaise with outside vendors.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Entry-Level. Experience as a legal secretary or paralegal, preferably with a focus on personal injury or construction defect cases in New York State.
• Experience: At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred.
• Skills: Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Bonus: Knowledge of third-party e-filing providers (One Legal, First Legal, Odyssey File & Serve, Green Filing) and the federal PACER and CM/ECF systems.
