Employment Litigation Paralegal | Katherine Kleyman, Esq., P.C.
The Tone:
This is a full-time, W-2, primarily remote position at Katherine Kleyman, Esq., P.C., for someone based in New York. Occasional in-person work in Brooklyn may be required. The firm is dedicated to representing employees in serious, high-value matters involving discrimination, retaliation, harassment, and wrongful termination. This role is crucial for supporting the firm’s attorneys in delivering substantial settlements and strong advocacy, ensuring clients receive full attention and empathetic care during difficult periods.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Drafting: Draft and revise a range of legal documents, including pleadings, discovery responses, correspondence, and other legal documents.
• Deadline Management: Oversee and manage critical deadlines, court filings, service of process, and maintain comprehensive case calendars.
• Document & Evidence Control: Organize case evidence, coordinate document productions, and prepare detailed chronologies, exhibits, witness materials, and damages summaries.
• Litigation Support: Provide essential support for depositions, mediations, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
• Stakeholder Communication: Maintain professional communication with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and third parties, while ensuring complete and organized case files.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A paralegal certificate, paralegal studies degree, or comparable formal training.
• Experience: At least 4+ years of litigation paralegal experience, with specific experience in New York litigation; experience with discovery, document productions, court filings, and litigation deadlines.
• Skills: Strong drafting, proofreading, organizational, and case-management skills; the ability to accurately and efficiently manage multiple priorities; comfort learning and using legal technology, case-management platforms, and new software.
• Bonus: Employment-law experience is strongly preferred; familiarity with Clio, Dropbox, Adobe Acrobat, NYSCEF, PACER, and electronic filing systems is helpful.
