Business Development Manager | Carl Zeiss
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Carl Zeiss, located in India. Carl Zeiss in India is a leader in Industrial Quality Solutions, Research Microscopy Solutions, Medical Technology, Vision Care, and Sports & Cine Optics. This position is crucial for identifying and developing new business opportunities for high-precision metrology solutions specifically within the aerospace market, covering OEMs, suppliers, MROs, and defence organizations. This role drives the adoption of advanced measurement technologies in a critical industry segment.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Identify and develop new business opportunities for high-precision metrology solutions (CMM, portable arms, optical/laser scanners, non-contact inspection systems, automated measurement cells, and related software) used by aerospace organizations.
• Conduct technical-commercial presentations and demonstrations (on-site or virtual) in coordination with application engineers.
• Map and prioritize target accounts across commercial aviation, defence aerospace, and space segments for long-term development.
• Develop long-term customer engagement and investment plans for key accounts, aligning with global strategies.
• Maintain accurate sales forecasts within the CRM system as a Key user.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Production / Aerospace Engineering or equivalent, with a deep knowledge of Aerospace supply chains in India.
• Experience: 5-7+ years in an Aerospace Domain focusing on business prospecting, or working in Aerospace supply Tiers in sourcing with a flair for selling and prospecting. CAPEX selling in aerospace is an advantage.
• Skills: Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills (English mandatory); ability to translate complex metrology value propositions into measurable ROI for customers; high emotional intelligence and relationship-building ability at CXO / VP / Quality Head level; proficiency in CRM (Salesforce preferred), MS Office, and basic technical drawing interpretation; willingness to travel extensively (50-60 % of time) within India and occasionally overseas.
• Bonus: MBA in Sales & Marketing preferred; Hindi or a regional language is an an advantage.
