The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting multiple attorneys, including Kunal Mirchandani, Joseph Soffer, and David Goldstein, and the Chief Operating Officer. What You’ll Actually Do
• Client & Lead Engagement: Serve as a primary point of contact by welcoming guests and clients in person or on the telephone when the receptionist is unavailable, answering inquiries, or directing them appropriately. You will maintain consistent contact with clients, proactively communicating case progress and keeping them informed throughout their legal journey.
• Case Document Production & Management: Produce all necessary legal information by transcribing, formatting, inputting, editing, retrieving, copying, and transmitting a wide array of text, data, and graphics. This involves the comprehensive coordination of case preparation, ensuring all documentation is accurate and ready for legal proceedings.
• Attorney Support & Time Management: Significantly conserve attorney time through meticulous legal support. This includes reading, researching, reviewing, verifying, and routing correspondence, reports, and legal documents. You will draft letters and other legal documents, collect and analyze critical information, manage filing, and coordinate essential functions like scheduling couriers, court reporters, and expert witnesses.
• Calendar & Schedule Management: Maintain precise attorney calendars by planning and scheduling conferences, teleconferences, depositions, and travel arrangements. This responsibility also involves diligently recording and monitoring all court appearance dates, pleading deadlines, and filing requirements, as well as tracking evidence-gathering progress.
• Client & Attorney Representation: Act as a vital representative for attorneys by effectively communicating with various parties and obtaining necessary information, following up on delegated assignments, and discerning when to act independently or refer matters directly to an attorney. You will also uphold client confidence by strictly maintaining the confidentiality of all client and attorney information.
The Must-Haves
• Background: This role requires a professional with a foundational understanding of legal procedures and practices, specifically within Family Law. The ideal candidate will be prepared to take ownership of assigned tasks and contribute to team efforts.
• Experience: Demonstrated experience in a legal support role, encompassing tasks such as transcription, document management, calendar maintenance, and client interaction. The position requires familiarity with coordinating legal processes and preparing materials for court.
