The Tone:
This is a full-time Legal Assistant/Paralegal role at The Law Center, S.C., located in downtown Madison with remote work possibilities. The Law Center is a boutique law firm specializing in critical legal issues affecting families, children, adoption, surrogacy, estate planning, probate, real estate, business, and the LGBTQ+ community. This role is essential for ensuring the efficient operation of our firm, supporting attorneys, and maintaining excellent client relationships. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to deliver high-quality legal services in these specialized and sensitive practice areas.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare: Prepare legal documents, exhibits, and correspondence for a range of legal matters, including family law, estate planning, and business cases.
• Investigate: Conduct thorough investigations and perform legal research to provide essential support for ongoing cases and client needs.
• Manage: Effectively organize attorney schedules and meticulously coordinate client files to ensure smooth workflow and accessibility.
• Communicate: Maintain clear and professional communication with clients, other attorneys, and court personnel on behalf of the firm.
• Support: Execute general clerical duties, such as managing phone calls and administrative tasks, to support overall firm operations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Possess a bachelor’s degree, or an associate’s degree/certificate specifically focused on paralegal skills, or demonstrate equivalent relevant work experience within a legal environment.
• Experience: Required proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to manage daily tasks and legal documentation effectively.
• Skills: Exhibit strong organizational capabilities, a self-motivated approach to work, meticulous attention to detail, and excellent communication skills when interacting with various stakeholders.
