Investment Banking Director, Media & Telecommunications | UBS

In this critical role, you will leverage your deep sector expertise and client relationship skills to originate, structure, and execute complex transactions, driving growth across advisory and capital markets activities in the dynamic Media & Telecom sector. You will contribute to a leading global platform by collaborating across regions and product groups to deliver innovative solutions.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Originate: Originate and execute M&A, equity, and debt financing transactions within the Media & Telecom sector.
• Advise: Develop and maintain senior-level client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives.
• Lead: Lead deal teams through all phases of transaction execution, including financial analysis, valuation, structuring, and negotiations.
• Mentor: Mentor and oversee junior bankers, fostering a high-performing team environment.
• Collaborate: Collaborate across product partners (ECM, DCM, leveraged finance, restructuring) to deliver integrated solutions.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s degree required, with significant experience (typically 8–12+ years) in investment banking focusing on Media, Telecom, or closely related sectors.
• Experience: Proven track record of executing M&A and/or capital markets transactions. Demonstrated leadership experience managing deal teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Skills: Strong client relationship skills with the ability to originate business independently. Deep understanding of industry trends, competitive dynamics, and valuation methodologies. Excellent financial modeling, analytical, and presentation skills.
• Bonus: MBA or advanced degree preferred. Curiosity to explore how AI can improve workflows with sound judgment, validating outputs and aligning with policies, risk standards, and ethical use.
