What You’ll Actually Do
• Execute Analysis: Execute in-depth analyses to support new business development and transaction execution, specifically valuing debt and equity for mergers, acquisitions, and capital raising transactions, while also developing varied approaches to analyses.
• Build Models: Build complex financial models to value potential and actual clients and/or industries, applying core valuation methods such as comparable companies, precedents, and discounted cash flow, and effectively synthesizing information to convey intricate financial modeling outcomes.
• Perform Due Diligence: Perform thorough due diligence, research, analysis, and documentation for potential and live transactions, identifying and properly escalating potential deal issues to team members.
• Create Presentations: Draft compelling management presentations to highlight financial analysis and research results, and assist in the development, production, and delivery of proposals and marketing materials to clients and prospects, emphasizing the advantages of William Blair.
• Mentor and Develop: Provide training and mentorship to summer interns and less experienced Analysts, investing in teaching subsequent classes of analysts and imparting best practices, while also supporting client relationship development and understanding macro factors related to client industry.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree along with prior investment banking experience, strongly preferring previous experience as an Analyst or equivalent, and a proven track record in university studies.
• Experience: Must acquire SIE Exam, Series 79, and Series 63 within 150 days of employment. The role involves approximately 5% travel.
• Skills: Possess strong analytical abilities and be detail-oriented, with excellent mathematical, writing, verbal, and computer skills, coupled with a thorough understanding of accounting and finance. The ability to adapt to new tasks with little notice and work on multiple projects simultaneously is also important.
• Bonus: A strong desire to win and commitment to satisfying internal and external customers are valued, along with developing increasingly sound judgment.
