Investment Banking Associate | MedTech | Houlihan Lokey

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Houlihan Lokey, a leading global investment bank that delivers independent strategic and financial advice to corporations, financial sponsors, and governments. The firm provides integrated solutions across mergers and acquisitions, capital solutions, financial restructuring, and financial and valuation advisory, known for its deep industry expertise and broad international reach. This role is crucial to the rapidly growing Medical Technology team, contributing immediately to M&A transactions and capital solutions by providing essential analytical support and client advisory. The Associate will gain substantial responsibility within a collaborative yet entrepreneurial environment, directly contributing to the firm’s growth within this specialized sector.

• Team: Four-person deal teams comprising a Managing Director, Vice President, Associate, and Financial Analyst.
• Mission: Drive M&A transactions and capital solutions within the Medical Technology sector by providing strategic financial analysis and client advisory.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Analysis: Prepare, analyze, and explain historical and projected financial information to support deal execution and new business generation.
• Transaction Execution: Coordinate and perform business due diligence while actively executing M&A transactions for medical technology clients.
• Client Communication: Prepare marketing materials, confidential information presentations, and other client-facing documents, while building and maintaining direct relationships with clients and advisors.
• Valuation & Research: Perform valuation and various ad hoc financial analyses in support of new business generation and existing engagements.
• Team Leadership: Communicate effectively with all team members, including the supervision and mentoring of junior financial analysts.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Undergraduate degree with advanced knowledge of accounting and finance.
• Experience: 3+ years of Investment Banking experience, with hands-on M&A sell-side experience and extensive operational financial modeling and valuation expertise.
• Skills: Strong analytical/technical and qualitative abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and strong computer skills including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Bonus: Transaction experience in Healthcare (MedTech, broader healthcare, business services, or industrials M&A), excellent public speaking and presentation skills, and the ability to manage multiple project deliverables simultaneously in a dynamic work environment.
