Investment Banking Associate – Aerospace, Defense & Government (AD&G) | Jefferies
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Jefferies, located in Charlotte, NC. Jefferies, a global investment bank, is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its specialized Aerospace, Defense & Government (AD&G) team, part of the broader Global Industrials group. This Associate position is crucial for the execution of complex M&A, strategic advisory, equity, and debt financing transactions for a diverse portfolio of domestic and international clients across the aerospace, defense, government services, and related industrial sectors. The role offers significant exposure, providing direct interaction with clients, senior bankers, and executive management teams, contributing directly to the firm’s strategic financial advisory services.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Transaction Execution: Execute comprehensive buy-side and sell-side M&A transactions, capital raises, and strategic advisory assignments for domestic and international clients.
• Financial Modeling: Build and rigorously review sophisticated financial models, encompassing Discounted Cash Flow (DCF), Comparable Company Analysis, Precedent Transaction Analysis, Leveraged Buyout (LBO) Analysis, and Merger and Accretion/Dilution Models.
• Documentation Preparation: Prepare crucial client presentations, pitch materials, confidential information memoranda (CIMs), management presentations, and other transaction-related documentation.
• Strategic Analysis: Perform valuation, financing, and strategic analyses in support of client transactions, providing insights and recommendations.
• Team Management: Manage analysts and oversee their work product to ensure exceptional quality and accuracy, participating actively in due diligence processes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a closely related discipline, establishing a foundational understanding for corporate finance and investment banking.
• Experience: Possess 3+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, corporate finance, or transaction advisory, demonstrating a proven track record in executing M&A and/or capital markets transactions.
• Skills: Exhibit strong financial modeling and valuation capabilities, exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities, along with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word. Additionally, demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Bonus: Prior professional experience within the Aerospace, Defense, Government Services, Industrials, or related sectors is preferred, as are FINRA Series 79 and Series 63 licenses (or the capacity to obtain them promptly), or an MBA/advanced finance-related credential.
