Investment Banking Associate – Medical Devices and Diagnostics | Leerink Partners

The Tone:
This is an Investment Banking Associate role at Leerink Partners, located in Santa Monica, CA. What You’ll Actually Do
• Lead: Serve as an integral team leader within client transactions, various projects, and specific assignments as an Investment Banking Associate, driving critical aspects of deal execution.
• Advise: Advise effectively with clients to understand their needs and manage internal investment banking teams and product teams to ensure cohesive strategy and delivery.
• Develop: Assist in the comprehensive preparation of presentations and various marketing materials, such as Confidential Information Memoranda (CIM) and Management Presentations, for both current and prospective clients.
• Analyze: Prepare detailed valuation analyses and a wide array of other financial modeling analyses for both clients and their target companies, providing crucial insights.
• Oversee: Review and actively manage the entire due diligence process, which includes the meticulous preparation of virtual data rooms and managing counterparty Q&A sessions.
• Research: Conduct in-depth research, thoroughly review business plans, and meticulously analyze financial statements to support strategic recommendations.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor Degree. Career level: Senior. Qualified candidates must possess a BS or BA in finance or a similar field of study, complemented by a demonstrated exemplary academic record.
• Experience: A minimum of 3+ years of investment banking experience is required, providing a solid foundation for the role.
• Skills: Possess strong financial modeling and analytical skills, coupled with a deep knowledge of financial accounting principles. Exhibit outstanding written and oral communication skills for effective client and internal interactions. Be highly motivated, energetic, personable, and capable of efficiently managing multiple tasks within a dynamic, team-oriented work environment. Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications is also essential.
• Bonus: Previous healthcare investment banking experience specifically at the Associate level is considered ideal, with a preference for candidates who have worked on healthcare-related transactions.
