Business Analyst Internship | Amentum

The Tone:
This is a temporary internship at Amentum, located in Colorado Springs, CO. Amentum’s NORAD Operations Group supports critical mission systems for the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) through the Integrated Tactical Warning/Attack Assessment (ITW/AA) and Space Support Contract II (NISSC II). This role is vital for ensuring the seamless financial and contractual operations that underpin surveillance, threat warning, and command and control capabilities for national defense. As an intern, you will contribute directly to the administrative and financial integrity of these essential defense programs.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Financial Operations: Support financial reviews, time reporting, invoicing, and auditing activities for the NORAD Operations Group.
• Contract Administration: Assist with the development, processing, and administration of Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), teaming agreements, and various contract and subcontract instruments.
• Invoicing and Reconciliation: Process Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) and GSA Invoicing, and support General Ledger Reconciliation efforts.
• Proposal Support: Contribute to the support for request for proposals (RFPs) for both contracts and subcontracts.
• Process Improvement & Reporting: Support process improvements, special projects, and the formation of financial reports for business and operations units.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Final year student or recent graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a Computer Science related field. This is an entry-level internship.
• Experience: No specific years of prior professional experience are required; the role is designed for those currently pursuing or recently completed an undergraduate degree.
• Skills: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance, foundational understanding of financial operations and contract administration concepts, organizational skills for document management and tracking, and analytical abilities for financial reporting and compliance.
• Bonus: Experience with PeopleSoft Financials, Payroll, Procurement, & Subcontracts.
