Financial Analyst | Spurs Sports & Entertainment

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Spurs Sports & Entertainment, located in San Antonio, TX. The company works in service of something bigger than themselves, harnessing the power of sports and entertainment through its NBA, NBA G-League, and USL teams, and managed venues, to create moments, memories, and community connections. This role is crucial for supporting the organization’s financial planning, reporting, and analysis processes. By maintaining financial models and assisting with forecasting, this position directly contributes to informed decision-making across various business units.

• Team: Reports to FP&A Lead and Senior Financial Analyst
• Mission: Supports the organization’s financial planning, reporting, and analysis processes to facilitate planning, reporting, and decision-making across franchise and venue operations.
• Tech Stack: Excel, financial planning systems (preferred)

What You’ll Actually Do
• Reporting: Prepare recurring financial reports, dashboards, and variance analyses to support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting activities.
• Planning: Support and execute the annual planning process, including coordination of inputs, development of templates, and consolidation of results.
• Forecasting: Assist in the development and maintenance of short- and long-term cash flow forecasts, including liquidity projections and scenario-based planning to support financial and capital decision-making.
• Model Management: Maintain financial models, reporting templates, and planning systems while ensuring data accuracy and consistency across platforms.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with Accounting and Finance teams to ensure alignment between actual cash activity, reporting, and forward-looking projections.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field, providing foundational knowledge for this early career position.
• Experience: Possess 1-2 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a related analytical role, with exposure to planning, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.
• Skills: Demonstrate strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and modeling.
• Bonus: Experience with financial planning systems or experience operating in multi-entity or complex environments is preferred.
