Litigation Paralegal | Plona Partners
The Tone:
This is a full-time, onsite role at Plona Partners, a distinguished regionally ranked firm, located in our vibrant Miami office. Plona Partners is dedicated to providing exceptional legal services across various litigation matters. This Litigation Paralegal position is fundamental to the firm’s operational efficiency, ensuring that our attorneys receive comprehensive organizational and practice-specific support at every stage of the legal process. The individual filling this role will play a pivotal part in the successful preparation and execution of litigation efforts, from the initial case assessment through final post-trial proceedings.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Research and Analysis: Proactively conduct comprehensive legal and factual research, diligently utilizing advanced platforms such as Westlaw and Lexis, to gather critical information and support case development and strategic decisions.
• Discovery Management: Oversee the entire discovery process, including the meticulous handling of Electronically Stored Information (ESI), and efficiently coordinate all aspects of document reviews and productions to meet tight deadlines.
• Legal Drafting & Motion Support: Accurately draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and notices, and provide essential assistance in law and motion practice through precise cite-checking, proofreading, and formatting to ensure legal compliance.
• Trial Preparation & Support: Meticulously prepare all necessary trial materials, such as comprehensive trial notebooks, organized exhibits, and detailed witness schedules, while also providing critical support during depositions and pre-trial activities.
• Post-Trial & Appeals Coordination: Efficiently assemble and file motion papers, diligently coordinate all court filings through established e-filing systems, and provide robust support for post-trial filings and the appeals process.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A strong academic foundation is required, demonstrated by a college degree and/or a recognized paralegal certificate, with a clear focus on litigation support gained within a professional law firm environment.
• Experience: Candidates must bring a minimum of 5 years of dedicated litigation paralegal experience acquired exclusively within a law firm, coupled with proven familiarity and hands-on experience in using CM/ECF for federal court e-filing and the Florida Court’s e-Filing Portal for state cases.
• Skills: Possess exceptionally strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail, alongside the critical ability to effectively manage tasks both independently and as a collaborative member of a legal team.
• Bonus: Proficiency in Spanish, making the candidate bilingual, is a distinct advantage, as is prior experience in handling bankruptcy and bankruptcy litigation matters.
