What You’ll Actually Do
• Assess Creditworthiness: Gather and analyze financial and business information to determine creditworthiness for loan and credit products.
• Manage Portfolios: Complete financial spreads, risk rating, performance tearsheets, compliance testing, and other ongoing portfolio monitoring and maintenance activities.
• Perform Underwriting: Underwrite complex commercial loans, conducting financial statement analysis, collateral analysis, financial modeling, and risk evaluation in accordance with credit policies.
• Conduct Research: Perform industry and market research, distilling key themes and conclusions into concise summaries for presentation purposes.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; this is an entry-level position.
• Experience: 0 – 2 years of experience in an underwriting or commercial banking environment.
• Skills: Ability to obtain FINRA Series 79, 63, or other necessary combination within 4 months of hire; strong analytical skills for cash flow analysis, financial statements, and collateral; proficiency in financial modeling and industry research; understanding of credit policy and legal documentation.
