The Tone:

What You’ll Actually Do
• Support Legal Matters: Provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to litigation attorneys.
• Manage Documents: Prepare, edit, proofread, and format a variety of legal documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery.
• Handle Filings: Perform electronic filing in California state, federal, and appellate courts, ensuring compliance with court rules and deadlines.
• Coordinate Schedules: Coordinate depositions, mediations, arbitrations, hearings, meetings, travel arrangements, and manage attorney calendars.
• Assist with Operations: Support new matter intake, conflict checks, engagement documentation, billing, time entry, and expense processing.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum 5 years of litigation legal secretary or legal practice assistant experience, with knowledge of supporting litigation matters from case inception through trial preparation.
• Experience: 5 years of litigation legal secretary or legal practice assistant experience, along with strong knowledge of California state and federal court filing procedures.
• Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and electronic document management systems; excellent proofreading, organizational, and multitasking abilities; outstanding written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
• Bonus: Experience preferably in a mid-sized or large law firm, and the ability to work additional hours when business needs require.
