What You’ll Actually Do
• Case Management: Provide essential support to attorneys, skillfully managing cases and preparing legal documents to ensure seamless workflow.
• Document Filing: Execute the accurate drafting, filing, and comprehensive management of legal documents utilizing the Florida e-Filing Portal.
• Scheduling & Coordination: Systematically maintain detailed calendars and expertly schedule all crucial legal proceedings, including hearings, depositions, and mediations.
• Communication: Act as a key liaison, professionally communicating with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and other relevant third parties.
• Legal Research & Discovery: Actively assist with discovery processes and conduct legal research to support case progression and attorney preparation.
• Record Keeping: Diligently maintain precise and up-to-date client records across Filevine, Microsoft Word, and Excel platforms.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Candidates should possess a foundational understanding of legal practices and procedures, ideally demonstrated by a paralegal certificate, which is preferred for this role.
• Experience: Requires prior experience working in a legal assistant role or a similar legal support function, providing practical knowledge of legal office operations.
• Skills: Essential skills include strong organizational abilities to handle various tasks efficiently, excellent communication skills for interacting with diverse parties, and the capability to manage several priorities concurrently.
• Bonus: Additional experience with Florida e-Filing and Filevine is highly beneficial, as is any prior multi-state litigation experience.
