What You’ll Actually Do
• Legal Document Preparation: Systematically prepare fundamental legal documents, including but not limited to initial pleadings, comprehensive discovery requests, detailed discovery responses, and professional correspondence, ensuring accuracy and adherence to legal standards.
• Case File Management: Take ownership of managing and organizing all physical and electronic case files, ensuring quick accessibility and systematic record-keeping throughout the lifecycle of each insurance defense matter.
• Court Filing Coordination: Efficiently handle all aspects of electronic court filings, accurately submitting documents to both state and federal court systems within required deadlines and according to procedural rules.
• Scheduling and Calendar Maintenance: Proactively coordinate and schedule a variety of legal engagements, including client meetings, witness depositions, and other essential attorney appearances, while diligently maintaining an up-to-date and accurate legal calendar to prevent conflicts.
• Supportive Administrative Tasks: Execute essential administrative duties, such as conducting professional telephone calls to gather pertinent case information from various parties, and performing clerical tasks crucial for supporting attorney organization, preparation, and overall operational efficiency.
The Must-Haves
• Background: A required qualification includes holding a paralegal certificate or possessing a relevant paralegal degree, coupled with demonstrable prior paralegal experience specifically within a law office setting. This foundational experience is essential for understanding legal office workflows and procedures.
• Experience: Proven track record of prior paralegal experience gained in a law office environment, where responsibilities included supporting legal professionals. This background is critical for immediate contribution to the firm’s insurance defense practice.
